🎅 The True (and Totally True-ish) Story of How Santa’s 9 Reindeer Got Their Names

Updated: Nov 4

Gather ‘round the fireplace (or cozy armchair) and pour yourself a mug of hot cocoa topped with extra marshmallows — you’re about to hear the true-ish, totally festive back-story of how Santa Claus’s nine reindeer got their famous names.

Clement Clarke Moore and the Original Eight

Back in 1823, a man named Clement Clarke Moore wrote a poem titled A Visit from St. Nicholas. Today, we call it The Night Before Christmas. This was the first recorded appearance of Santa’s eight reindeer, and it introduced their names to the world. But let's not forget about the rogue 9th reindeer Rudolph.

Stay tuned as we begin to unravel the meaning behind each reindeer's name!

And because we love a good holiday surprise, we’ll also show you how to celebrate this story with a charming little keepsake: the delightful wooden gift tag collection called Savvy Tech Grandma “Santa’s Tag Team” (available here: https://www.savvytechgrandma.com/product-page/santa-s-reindeer-gift-tag-team
