The Denison Forum

Lots of notable authors. Christian based

The Daily Article

The Denison Forum seems quite legitimate and offers interesting Christian perspective on the current worldwide issues. They have 2 main offerings

“The Daily Article”, which is actually a series of digital articles. You can pick and choose which ones are the most interesting to you. The information seemed to be authentically true to scripture. It is a daily so it can seem a bit overwhelming. I would suggest not trying to “consume” the entire article every day, but pick and choose between the many “articles” in “The Daily Article”.

The other offering is “The Focus” . It is a weekly arriving in your inbox on Tuesdays. The Forum indicates that it is a “roundup of the most important stories and cultural trends.”

They are very similar in format, beginning with a feature story at the top with lots of other content in the lower section.

I believe they underestimate the amount of time it takes to read either one, but both definitely had topics that are important to Christians.

Focus on the Family

They have been around since 1977. They provide practical advice on a variety of topics related to issues contemporary Christians encounter. They don’t address secular news or politics. They are strictly focused on helping Christians with issues they might encounter.

Overfilled Mailbox

The Pour Over

My favorite option. The newsletters truly are short, but have a Christian focus. There are always scriptures to support what they are saying about a particular news topic.. They do not expound on their opinions a lot (which could be good or bad). I feel like I can form my own opinions, as long as I have unbiased information.

They also weave a coffee analogy throughout each issue.

Sojourners

Christian newsletters, commentaries, magazines and other programs. They require a donation for most of their services.

This is what Sojourner says about itself:

"Here's some of what you can expect from us:

  • News and commentary on some of the toughest social issues of our time — through the lens of faith.

  • Opportunities to put your faith into action through events, advocacy opportunities, and more.

  • Practical resources to engage your community."
