Sharing Photos Using Text Messaging

📱 On iPhone (Using Messages)

  1. Open the Messages app.

  2. Tap the compose button (square with a pencil).

  3. Enter a contact name or phone number.

  4. Tap the + icon (or camera/photo icon) next to the text field.

  6. Select one or more photos.

  7. Tap Add (or Done).

  8. Tap the Send button (arrow).

👉 Your photos will be sent as an iMessage (blue bubble) or MMS (green bubble), depending on the recipient.

🤖 On Android (Using Messages)

  1. Open your messaging app (commonly Google Messages).

  2. Tap Start chat or +.

  3. Enter the contact’s name or number.

  4. Tap the attach icon (paperclip or +).

  5. Choose Gallery or Photos.

  6. Select the photo(s) you want to send.

  7. Tap Send.

📸 Tips for Sending Photos via Text

  • Image quality may be reduced when sent via standard text messaging.

  • You may have a size limit (usually a few MB per message). Most new phones take high-resolution photos that are large files.

  • If photos won’t send, check your mobile data or Wi-Fi connection.

  • For higher quality, consider sending an iCloud or Google Photos link instead.

  • Many iPhones are set by default to store photos in HEIC format because they take up less space. HEIC files often have to be converted to a different file type before they can be used by other devices or applications.

Changing HEIC to JPG on iPhones

If you want to change your photo format to make sharing easier, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Scroll down to Camera.

  3. Choose Formats.

  4. Choose “Most Compatible”.

Your iPhone will now take photos in JPG format. The file size will be a little larger, but the quality will be better, and other devices and apps will be able to view and use the photos.

Conclusion

Sharing photos can be simple and enjoyable! Whether you're using iCloud, text messaging, or even sharing links, there are many ways to connect with loved ones through your pictures. Remember, practice makes perfect. Don't hesitate to try these methods out. You'll be a photo-sharing pro in no time!
